What Cliffs?

Day 5

I was really excited about getting in the car and heading north towards Gallway. The main reason for this excitement was because on this day we would be going to the Cliffs of Moher. This was the number one site that had I wanted to see while in Ireland and I wanted to make sure that we had plenty of time to take it all in.

As I mentioned before the weather was pretty cold and rainy but we were hoping that it would become less rainy as we drove north. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

This is what I had wanted to see.

And this is what we saw

Although it was disappointing we decided that we would make the best of it and that hopefully the fog would clear a bit before we left.

Since there was not much to see we found other ways to entertain ourselves.

After picking up another postcard it was time to grab some lunch and drive to our next and final B&B.

We made a few stops along the way. First was to toss the frisbee on a beautiful beach.

Next, to stop and let the cows pass.

Finally to see another castle.

There were times when our gps would take us on some interesting shortcuts. It became a little scary when a car would come barreling towards us.

A few hours later we made it to our B&B, The Four Winds Lodge.

The main reason that I chose this home was because they served breakfast in the conservatory.

Since it was still raining outside we decided to go into town for a warm dinner and then head back to play cards. We went to an excellent restaurant called The Sheridan. Five minutes after we arrived Brian saved the day by putting out a fire at the table next to us. Once he had stomped it out everyone in the restaurant began clapping. Nicely done Brian!

Our food, that we still had to pay for despite saving everyone's lives. :)

Pizza with jalapenos, pineapple and corn. Some of us needed a break from Irish cuisine.

Roast lamb.

It was a nice relaxing night and it was even nicer to sleep in the next morning before heading back to Dublin.
